Buying a Jag XJ6 in Denver
How difficult is it to find parts for 1995 to 1997 XJ6's? Where would I go to get a picture of replacement parts for these types of cars? I'm wondering about how long can I expect to find parts and how expensive they may be.
Also, I've found a 1997 Jaguar XJ6 on Craigslist here in Denver. It has 88K miles and all the maintenance records. The price is $4500, which seems quite reasonable. The only immediate snag is that the car was in Milwaukee, WI, for three years, from 1997 to 2000. The seller is the second owner and has had the car in Denver since 2000. Wisconsin's a rust state. Would three years be something to worry about?
One more thing: I need a Jaguar technician in the metro Denver area if anyone has some names. I would want an independent tech to look it over before I even considered buying it.

Broadly speaking not hard at all. The odd exception pops up from time time as with any car but all the common repair and routine service parts are easy to find.

I don't quite understand the question. Do you mean an actual picture? Or by saying 'picture' do you mean 'general idea'?
If the latter then visit Rock Auto or similar online, or a Jag specialist like SNG Barratt or Coventry West. They have online catlogs to browse.

Lots of these cars on the road and lots of aftermarket support. I suspect most parts will be available for many years.
In most cases parts for these car are quite reasonable...as high end luxury cars go.

'Rust state' meaning salted roads? If so then, yes, 3 three years is long enough to cause a problem if the owner didn't make any effort to keep the underbody washed

As far as Denver goes there is really only a few places to get parts in a pinch, and most things you need ship from California at a two to three day wait. Stevinson Imports can get you most anything, it just takes time.
There are a few XJ6's at the "pull and save" on Zeno street, or you can try "Kats" British for parts they sometimes have stuff on hand.
One thing to remember is the XJ is a RWD vehicle so it's not very popular around here therefore fewer spare parts and such.
