Hello everyone
New member and proud owner of 1986 xj6 series 3.
finally, after many an American muscle car in my driveway and garage, I have what I believe to be one of the classiest cars ever built.(What has taken me so long to get one , I don't know) It's not intended to be a daily driver or an investment of any sort, just a fair weather cruiser.
A few issues quickly resolved , cold start issue turned out to be an air filter that I believe to have been at least 10 years old ,clogged and hard as a rock.
Replaced with K&N for almost the same price as an original, new plugs ,wires, cap and rotor make this cat just purr.
126,000 miles from an older jaguar enthusiast and aside from the air filter it appears to have been well maintained, doesn't appear to burn any oil , leaks a little but don't they all. Runs and drives very well, exactly how I'd always thought.
Changing the radio out for a new cd player gave me my first look at the opticell and fibre optic cable , which of course was previously damaged and inoperable, but I'll get around to that.
Next up ,new tires to replace the dry cracking ones.
Great Forum , that has provided much needed help while tinkering with my new ride, and I look forward to being a part of it.
Cheers
