Post Hello to everyone in this forum !!!

My name is Khari. I live in Miami Florida. I just purchased a Jag and I'm the type of person who likes to do thngs myself. I noticed that, for the most part, some things regarding maintenance can be done personally while other things will require a qualified mechanic. I joined this forum to get quality advice about my Jag which is a 2004 Jaguar X Type.

My purchase is the first for Jaguar and I'm not familiar with many things about the car. The most important issue which bothers me presently is a sound coming from the left side of the car which sounds like air or something coming out when I accelerate. It's churning in a pulsating form like: fe-fe-fe-fe-fe-fe (if that helps ;-) The sound only happens when I drive not in a stationary position. I can hear the gears of the car when its in drive as well.

I will fork up $145 at the dealership to get a full diagnostic done which I feel is worth it because the car is great for the most part. If anyone has any advice regarding the sound please let me know. I will start a new post regarding this issue as well so people can find it better.

Welcome to the forum Khari,

You've come to the right place for the 'hands-on' owner.

Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region section by following this link Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome to the forum Khari

Always nice to have another forum member. As Graham said, find the proper section that applies to your car and I'm sure you will find the help you are looking for. There are a lot of very nice people, as well as techs, who are willing to help.

Good luck, and enjoy your Jag

Darrell
