Default Hello Glad to join the forum

Hi Everyone. I am new to using forums. JaguarForums is the first one I have used. I have read posts on other forums but this forum seems to be the most knowledgeable. I made the mistake of posting a question before reading the NEW MEMBERS MUST READ. So I apologize. On that note I want to introduce myself. I am an ASE certified tech from New Jersey. I have approx 30yrs experience working on cars and trucks mostly American Big 3 and some European and Asian. You all are way more knowledgeable than I am about Jaguars. I currently own a 2002 Jaguar S-Type 3.0L vin M35400. Car always started and ran fine. I had a cylinder 3 misfire with code. I disconnected battery and replaced all 6 coils and plugs, checked plug gaps before install. Reconnected battery and car cranked but wouldn't run. Cleaned up tools and after approx 15-20 mins cranked car over and it started and ran engine miss was gone. Checked for obd2 codes had none test drove for 15mins or so shut car off. Went to start car again 15min later and again it cranked but wouldnt run. Once again I waited approx 20-30mins and it started right up and ran fine. Since then It may or may night start right up in morning. If it doesn't I can retry starting in 15-20mins and it will fire right up. If it does I can drive around fine until I shut it off then after sitting 15-20mins cranks but no run. It just keeps repeating this cycle. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forums ChappY41,

Good to have you with us.

Your Intro was automatically locked for moderation. There is no problem with the content so I've approved it and other members can now see it. The second version you posted has been moved to S-Type forum for advice from members with the same model. I also changed the thread title to Misfire. Here's the direct link to it:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...0/#post2512859

I can see you've already found your way to the S-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Northeast Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northeast-35/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

From one S-type owner to another... Welcome. The S-type forum is populated with a very friendly group and contains a wealth of knowledge.

You might want to add your general location to your profile and the car's details to the available signature line; this makes descriptions like "driver’s side" more relevant when posting to the forums...
