Hello from God's Country
Hi all, I am a poor mans Jag owner of a black 2004 X-type 2.5 manual transmission.
I am from La Crosse, WI. and I am an infrastructure architect (fancy name for a person who designs and manages a datacenter, servers, network, virtualization etc).
I purchased this car with 6000 miles on it and drove it up til about 30,000 miles. Then my wife started her own business so I was forced to sell my baby. I was a sad sad man.
Last Spring I had the opportunity to buy Kat back. She had another 30,000 miles, a few door dings, some scratches on the hood from a bicycle rider hitting the car. Not too bad considering she was gone for six years.
The car is still a joy to drive and it's awesome to have her back!

And you've caught the bug again Kyuss,
Well done you obviously regretted losing her in the first place!
The forum will be glad to have you back as well!!
I hope you've got near to sorting out that rubbing noise too!
regards, Stu

welcome to the forum and back to the Jag family. You will find plenty of info and support here.
You've already found the X-type section, but pay specific attention to the first few posts for valuable how to's downloads, etc.
Also recommend checking out the Midwest regional section for local news/events.
Mid West US - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
lastly - recommend adding a signature to your profile (include model and year) by clicking the User CP link in the upper left.
enjoy!!!

Oh man, I fought selling her and it was a major point of contention between my wife and I for a long time.
Now if I can just figure out this annoying rubbing sound I will be golden!

Welcome to the forum Kyuss,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. Not often we hear of anyone getting to buy back their car again!
I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type tech section so there's no need for a link. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
