Smile Hello from "gordsplace"

I found this site while searching for information on my 2004 Lincoln LS which is basically a Jag S type. I was on Lincoln vs Cadillac Forums
searching for a solution to the burning smell which enters the car occationally. The post on that site gave some information about "leaking air valves" but it was pretty sketchy. It did however give a link to the solution as posted on this Jaguar site. I have copied it below, https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-32135/

The oil leak was from my Intake Manifold Tuning Valves (IMTV) and the forum post gave exact details and photos on the resealing of the valves.
I joined this forum because the Jaguar enthusiasts seem to be better at finding and sharing technical support.
I am troubleshooting the driver power door lock which just chatters, and the drivers power window switch which does not operate on one directional control. Hopefully someone will be able to assist with that.

Thanks to all for the great help. I am looking forward to posting some of my repair experiences and photos soon.

Welcome to the forum Gord,

Glad that we could help, there are some similarites between the cars and interchangable parts, there is a thread in the S section giving details of some of the cross over parts.

Thanks, I will be researching the door lock repair and the mirror remote switch repair.
This is a very nice car to drive, and seems to be well made with quality components.
Who knows, maybe I will find an S type for sale at auction and be confident to purchase it. They certainly sell for low dollars in my area (British Columbia Canada) due to a perception of difficulty to repair and high cost of repairs. I like to do it myself and this Jaguar forum apears to be part of a comunity of enthusiasts who like to help each other enjoy the cars.
I just might give up on the idea of a Mustang convertable and entertain a Jag!

Hello Gord, welcome to the forum!

Hey I recognize that thread . Glad it could be of service to you.

As norri stated above if you look in the "S Type Section" there near the top is an FAQ Thread that has alot of information. Even has the cursid window regulator and motor replacement with great pics.

Becareful there are a couple of Jag enthusiasts here that are also auction gurus and whole sale dealers that just might find you that right S Type at the right price!

Enjoy ALL the site has to offer!
