Hello from me & my black cat
[align=left]I´m Martin from Europe and I drive a Jaguar X-Type 2.0 Diesel Estate Sport Modell 08/2004 until 12/2005.
I bought the car with 8300km, half and a year old (1 1/2). Now it has extremly lucky 42200km.
I´m very happy with my Jaguar because it´s possible for me to correct little mistakes without mechanics.
Bosch Brakes should be cleaned in detail and need a little bit special brakes-fat.
Electric contacts can do it saver with contact-spray and oxidated screws ... I like to replace with oxidation-free material.
Engine & Gearbox is good stuff, but can do it better with Slick50 Additive which are for the 2.0D with no drouble. Push 10% more power into the engine and also into the gearbox. It makes the Diesel-Jag a real sportscar.
If you have a dense-wrestle-leak use www.lecwec.de . It push the material 3% bigger and makes it soft & like new.
Best wishes

[align=left]Hello h20boy, JimC64, bmw745... and that I forgot
h20boy: My dealer told me, that all Jaguars worldwide have the same engine´s because it´s a cost related problem for a small luxury car builder like Jaguar to build for different regions a lot of engine modells. This way, all Jaguar worldwide have strong US-emission standards.
My diesel is from Ford-Peugout-Citroen Cooperation - PSA. See the link some posts before.
JimC64: Thanks. I hope that I learn English - both the exclusive Britisch and also the expressive US.
I´m not used to speak English and my knowledge is from Websites, Instruction manuals and movies.
I hope you can laugh sometimes about my mistakes.
bmw745....: Nice family at the picture.
I bought a Jaguar because the knowledge about many car producer, specially the German one´s, made me sure that with Jaguar I will have the lowest costs with AfterSalesBusiness but the greatest quality (for Jaguar parts, not for some Ford parts). I have had before a Ford with 320000km and the first engine that lost no oil while running also at the end. I want a Ford engine again and the Jaguar 2.0Diesel has a Ford engine & gearbox. What better could I do than buying a Jaguar X-Type 2.0 Diesel.
X-Type 2.0D Diesel engine has a lot of power and 330Nm torque. That´s a lot more than the 2.5, 3.0 engines have. But 2.0D is less fast with 210Km/h max. but Germany is a small ****-happening country... and it´s fast enough for a car that should not be a sports car. 6-8 Liter Diesel for 100km is very good and payable at Germany. We have 83 Cent additional tax at our gas and 1 Liter costs beetween 1.20-1.50Euro (1.50$-1.88$ for on Liter, 7.31$ per US Gallon (1 Gallon=3.89 Liter). Exchange rate today 1.25$ per Euro.
Accelerate up a hill I have with 2.0 Diesel it is no problem to stay position short behind a powerfull Mercedes 500 SL for 1-2 kilometers. But the Mercedes at a plan street is much faster at the long run.
