Hi All,
Live up in the Mtn's of NC, don't know how I ended up with
this Jag, but I did. Joined this forum because I have no clue
on what I got, or how to work on it, but I'm gonna, with or
without y'all s help.
First questions, what tools do I need to do a tuneup?

Welcome.
A quicky ask in the XK8 section would give that answer.
Not much in the way of a "tune up" on any of these modern type cars.
The V8 would be spark plugs and coils, oils (all)/filter(3)/coolant/etc, then enjoy it.

Hello, Billy, and congratulations.
All cars operate on similar principles. Just because it's British doesn't mean it was made on Mars so don't let the "Publicity" scare you. The members in the XK8 section will help you any way they can.

You don't need anything out of the ordinary in the way of tools to do routine maintenance but you will find a compatible code reader very useful for troubleshooting.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
