Apropos your paintwork, did you strip off the old paint? Reason I ask is because an '83 will have the TPA paint which was absolutely c**p. It need to all come off if any refinish is to last more than 18 months-2 years.

Car was sanded back to bare metal, however it was a buddy that resprayed it, paint was drop dead gorgeous until a few months ago, its actually the clear coat that's failing, you can see the lines it was applied in, The friend that sprayed the car has said the clear coat wasn't thick enough but has since had a stroke and can no longer work. No big deal though, I fixed up and sold my MG, now i have the room to garage the jag and start over, as i am also getting bubbles by the rear glass!, got a small rust spot on a door too, oh and a ladder fell on the drivers side door leaving a small dent! all small stuff, but enough little things to get on my nerves!!!!! Most of my questions on here will be mechanical ones like the real meaning of the green on the temp gauge.. etc...

thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
Darren
