Hi there, I’m another Scotsman in the group, relocated to the USA and living in the San Diego, CA area. I joined the group a couple of months ago but haven’t posted yet and wanted to make sure I got my post count up so I could remain a member.
I bought a 2003 Jaguar XJ V8 back in mid December with 55K on the clock for what I thought was a very low price (less than $12K). So far, so good with only one minor issue that needed to be taken care of by the dealer.
A couple of cosmetic issues I have are slightly droopy headlining at the rear of the car (it reduces the view slightly out of the rear view mirror), not so much broken but completely missing cup holders and the brakes feel a little lethargic. Oh yeah and the cigar lighter power socket seems to be very corroded and only works with certain 12V plugs.
Does anyone have any suggestions on any of the above especially the cupholders, I’ve read other posts and seen that they’re a common problem and that both repair kits and used ones on Ebay are expensive. Are there any other fixes that don’t use the factory set up?
Anyway I’m enjoying the car and find it comfortable and quiet to drive and uncommon compared to the masses of BMW’s and Mercedes I see here in SoCal.
Good to be here.

Welcome to the forums
Nice to see another Scotsman . You have different type of cup holder unlike late XJ40 and X300s . For those kits , there are metal hinges instead of crispy ,worthless plastic so you get lifetime warranty .
I don't know if your X308s type of cupholders are broken

Good intro too....
As for the headlining? There is a FAQ for this in the interior section I believe, really good too with pics and a write up....check it out.
Cheers
