Default hello from san antonio, tx new member w/1998 vdp

Hello, I just purcahsed a 1998 Vanden Plas with 95k miles. This my first Jaguar. Some vehicles I have owned in the past(the ones worth mentioning anyway) 68 caddy, 68falcon sprint, 86 ninja 600r, 88 prelude si 4ws, 90 taurus sho, 91 fzr 1000, 98 bmw m3, and 2003 r1. I purchased the jag, since i will need a nice 4door when I save for my next toy either lotus elise or corvette c6 and a 2 seater wont do. I do all my own maintenance and repairs on my toys, hey thats part of the fun for me. I look forward to learning the ins and outs of this brand.
I think my first contribution will be how to tie in your leaper/hood ornament to the alarm system. I just purchased a replacement from ebay, along with a bunch of other stuff.(mine was missing) and after reading some of the posts from members having thier's stolen I think everyone else would benifit.

So, your first Jaguar ! Well, the present is always the best time to get started on the few little jobs you need to do to these models (X308 series), to keep them reliable and nice running. (see the relevant forum)

Hope you enjoy the car !!
