Hello and welcome to the forum,

Always been put off by scare stories on running costs and reliability? Time to change from lusting to ownership!

Knowing what to look for in your search goes deeper than admiring the gleaming paintwork. All the information is available on the X300 and XJ sections with plenty of knowledgeable guys to answer your questions.

Graham

Looking at a 2-3 month time frame, I need to lean as much as possible, I think at one time or another I've had about every brand out there..lol..But never a Jag..It was my late Fathers favorite and I need a family sedan with some class..not a average blah 4 door. Jags are so inexpensive used I'm a bit concerned but will take any information you can give. looking at 97/2001 era XJ6 or XJ8

Welcome to the forum.

Good to see you.

Personally my preference in those years would be the XJ6 (known as the X300) rather than early XJ8.
