Hello, I joined a few years back when I picked up my 58 mk1 stick, but I had other projects I was working on. Now I am concentrating on this beaut that i have been drinking beers and looking at. I have amassed many new & rebuilt parts for it, am getting the engine rebuilt and have sourced a new gearbox for it.

I am realizing the floorboards are worse than I thought and was wondering if anyone might know of someone cutting up a 55-59 mk1 shell that I might be able to buy some pieces off of? I'd also like to find a good source for a new wire loom, cheapest I can find is about $750.

If you would like to see pics, I can certainly post them...but maybe I should start a build/resurrection thread instead?

If you are curious, this is the one I bought...

Welcome back?

Beers and Jags, a match made in heaven.

The guys/gals on the MK1 section will answer your questions without too much fuss.

A thread as suggested would be a good idea, as more of these rare beasts are appearing.

Hey Grant, much appreciated. I'm sure I will have questions and will start a thread soon. I will go through my phone and get all my mk1 pics together so you all can see where I've been, what I've got and where I'm at. I'm especially curious to know (relative to other old Jags) how bad of a tin worm problem I have. I was thinking that since I no longer have a numbers matching engine and will need to redo the interior as well, that I might swap everything into another chassy instead. Has anyone looked at the Mk1 values in hemmings recently (last 2 years, at least for the ones in better condition)? Beats the way the stock market has been performing recently...

Welcome (back) to the forum Andy,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You should definitely start a build project thread in https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/mki-mkii-s-type-240-340-daimler-61/ forum. Not surprisingly there's always a lot of interest from members in seeing the classic Jaguars.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.
