Hello from south of France
Hi,
My name is Frantz.
I live in Gajan a little village close to Nimes, south of France but I come from north of France (Dunkerque, Belgium border). Hope my English is still "understandable", I learnt it in Ireland where I lived for 5 years :-P
I'm 39 year's old, married, and an IT consultant in a well known US IT company. I had many BMW (3 & 5 series), I just sold my MY2007 Chrysler 300C.
I'm a big fan of Top Gear (I nearly own all DVDs, and I subscribed to the magazine). Jeremy and Capt'ain Slow are my favorites.
My dream car is a first series Type E, but my banker still disagrees
I found that an XKR could be a great option, what a piece of GT for a such low cost! It was my wife who decided to buy the car, as this year I celebrate my 40 years and she wanted to mark the occasion (not sure that's the right expression?)!
So, let's talk about the car (As you already noticed, I'm a bit "talkative" even I know my English is not really academic) That's an XKR Coupé, MY2005 (MKIII) previously owned by an Italian friend of mine. The big cat is still in Roma, I have to get it back to France at the end of the month. Do I have to say I'm eager to put my hand on it...2 weeks to go...Oh God... Here some pics to wait it out:

Unfortunately, there is few forum dedicated to Jaguar in France and it' uneasy to get information. There is only one (and absolutely excellent) French forum dedicated to the XK8 & R (XK8 Passion).
I'm browsing the forum for technical information, advice and to speak ("to write" should be more appropriate!) English :-)
See U,
Frantz

Welcome to the forum Frantz,
Great introduction.
The XKR looks superb and bringing it home from Rome to Nimes is my idea of a perfect day with a Jaguar.
No doubt we'll be seeing and hearing more of you and the car on the XK8/XKR section.

Welcome Frantz to the forum.
What a great present from the wife to celebrate your 40th. Beautiful vehicle btw, thank you for sharing the pictures. Be sure to mark the calender here for celebrating your birthday with us.
As this is mostly an American site, there are plenty of Europeans (and others) that contribute as well. As far as your English goes, I think you are doing a great job, better than some of the native English speaking fellows.
Enjoy all the site has to offer!

Thanks Graham.
I will post more pics and details when I'll bring it to home.
I should find some good places to take picture of my XKR :-)
I forgot to mention that the car has 81500 kilometres/50600 miles.
I would have prefered 3 gauges instead of the old and not upgradable GPS.
But it seems I could eventually retro-fit the gauges...However, I have to learn some basics DIY before unmounting my dashboard

Welcome Frantz. The XKR looks to be in fantastic shape. I must admit they are fun to drive. Enjoy!

Again, thanks to all of us for the cordial welcome !
Yes, I'm lucky man. Sun, beautiful landscape, gorgeous food, and nice little road to play with XKR (you should know "Les Cevennes"? ) !
At beginning I was looking for a red 4.0L XKR with 20" Detroit alloys...
Finally, I ended with this 4.2L XKR and I'm happy as it is more "Jag", in the meaning, it is stylish, isnt'it?
Thanks for the link. I already had a quick glance to this thread. However, I have an issue to download JEPC, file is corrupted
I will post about it in the right section.
And, you can be proud of your French : you didn't forget the accent on the "a"...You'll be surprises how many guys forget the accent ! :-P
