just bought a 78 xjc thats sat in a barn for 25 years

dead engine so replacing it with a 350 chevy and 700r4

needs welding and most other thing doing

I drive a series 2 with that power train, I can't imagine anything else under that hood!

Welcome! The XJC is a pretty rare car these days. Are you sure that a drive-train swap is in your best interests at resale time? I could be wrong, but wouldn't the restored car be worth more if it was "all Jaguar"'? Being in the UK, access to original bits and pieces to do the job right must be simpler that over here, "across the pond," where engine/tranny swaps are more the norm...

Just being the Devil's Advocate here and no offense is intended...

i am not worried about resale value, that spoils the fun. the car i bought is a rough example with a dead engine
the car can be returned to jag power as chevy conversions doesn't require major modifications
done loads of engine swaps in the past
