Hello from Virginia
Hello Everyone,
I am glad to have discovered this forum. Fantastic information is available here! I am learning a lot about the Jaguar marque.
Now, the rest of the story.......
Five years ago my wife, on a whim, decided she wanted a new car. She saw one at the dealer in town and told me about it. She asked if I would go to the used car section and look at the one with an animal displayed on it. I was thinking, "She wants a Mustang". To my surprise I discover her desire is a spiffy 2002 X-Type Jaguar in gunmetal grey. I bought it and found that I enjoyed driving it more than driving my Cadillac Concours.
Soooooo, moving forward to present day, I find a beautiful 2005 XJ8 with 46,000 miles on the odometer. Well, you know what happened next. I had to have it. It now sits in our drive next to the X-Type. I am $19,900.00 lighter but tons happier with the 33 mpg (almost unbelievable) that I got on my first road trip.
Best to All,
Squeek

Gus,
Thanks for the welcome and advice. I am looking forward to posting pictures soon.
By the way, my wife's family lives in Winchester near Senseny Rd.!! I have been traveling back and forth there for almost 40 years. Much more enjoyable now with the XJ8.

Stacker,
Thanks for the welcome. It's great to be here.
I may have said XK somewhere in my post.....sorry. It's an XJ8 I just purchased. I'm and old guy and couldn't get in or out of an XK without a forklift.

Thanks GoKitty.
I have not seen many Jags in the area. I know of 3 in my small county. Traveled to Maine last week and only saw 4 on the 1600 mile round trip. Kinda nice to be in such exclusive (and fast) company.
