Just brought another 1975 XJ6L in original perfect condition, Guy owned it for 22 years. Will post up photo of it tomorrow, now i have 2 cars excatly the same but they seem to have the odd thing which is different which is unusual because there both 1975 xj6l 4.2 auto . . . . like the one i just brought he said never came out with back seatbelts? yet my black v8 one has them also the location of the outter radio ariel on my black jag its rear right hand side panel and the silver one i just got its the right hand side front panel and the hinges for the bonnet are also different but apart from that they are identical
Compulsory fitting of rear seat belts in the UK began in 1986 and most Jaguars prior to that didn't have them fitted unless the original purchaser chose them as an extra cost option.

ohh i see, thanks for that...... so i could take the ones out of my black one and say they never came with any? just for the fact i can say, my car has doesnt need seatbelts to be road legal lol. I love the one i just brought they look so nice in silver, i never knew they had chrome lip attachments on the wheels also i just thought they were chrome with chrome inner hubcaps but the one i just brought has chrome lip for the outter rim too, even the factory seats have no rips! im dam amazed. but then again this guys garage had 3 brand new supercharged v8 jags next to it so he wasnt short on money and must of loved jaguars.
Decided im just going to collect jaguars, already planning on buying a series 3 one just because i can lol and its cheap

As far as seat belts are concerned, the latest NZ information I can find is available though this link:
Land Transport Rule: Seatbelts and Seatbelt Anchorages 2002 | NZ Transport Agency
The Seat Belts & Anchorages 2002 PDF document available from there gives the information for vehicles "... first registered in any country on or after 1/1/1955 and before 1/11/1979...." rear seat belts are not required to be fitted.
Please check this for yourself before assuming you can remove the seat belts!
