Hey everybody I am Ben, Just bought my x type about a week ago, drives fine other than a little 1st gear late shifting, a leaking in the housing unit for the coolant, and it needs some front end work. Anyway, I started it up this morning, sounded fine, started driving it and a little orange light popped up(see pic) anlong with this it said "cruise control unavailable" the Orange light sometimes solid, other times blinking, I also noticed when I accelerated my car was kind of shaking( never done this before) but when I let go of the gas it was as smooth as could be? I'm really worried this has something to do with the transmission, help!

 

I can't figure out how to put a pic, I'm on my phone, but the light was in the rpm module

The orange warning is the MIL (Malfunction Indication Light) also known as the Check Engine Light. When this is set, the engine can also go into 'limp home' mode with reduced performance.

Many faults can trigger this. To find out exactly why the MIL is illuminated, you should have the codes read and post them in the X-Type tech forum for advice.
