Default hey im a new member.... Welcome Me

hey everyone ,
My name i Donald. i live in Tacoma Washington, thats in the great united states.
right now i dont own a jaguar but i am actively looking. I joined this forum to learn more about jaguar before making my purchase.

My mother had a 1998 jaguar xj8 vanden plas when i was a child and that started my love for jaguar,my first car was a 2001 jaguar s type i had it about three days before the transmission pooped out. i didnt like the body type of the s type i am more interested in the xj series. i dont like the 2009+ xj bodystyle i am looking for a 1995 thru 2008 and im looking for some facts on what it takes to maintain a jaguar from your experience also common problems on on the xj series.

i have looked at
2001 xj8 with 73698mls black exterior with black interior the sunroof didnt move but it made a noise af if it thought it was moving and the telescoping steering did not move in and out but made a sound as if it was moving in and out but it did go up and down. Would you think but hearing that that i am going to run into more problems? to me it makes me feel like the previous owner didnt take care of the car.is this one a lost cause

Firstly welcome to te forum.

The answers for your market are best made by people actually in your market.

The comment of not well cared for is valid in my opinion, as everything is fixable.

Welcome to the forum Donald,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

As you have already discovered from your experience with the S-Type, broken Jaguars can be expensive to fix. A complete service history and time spent checking everything works on a potential purchase will save you much time and trouble. On the other hand, faults are a good way to negotiate the asking price down!

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information on the earlier 1997-2003 steel bodied XJ8.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues. For information on the later 2003-2009 aluminium bodied X350 model, follow this link XJ ( X350 & X358 ) XJ6 / XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

You can also visit the USA Northwest Region forum by following this link USA Northwest - Washington/Oregon/Idaho & SW Canadians - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
