Default Hey There! New to Jags

Hello. I recently inherited a XFR 5.0 SC. Unfortunately, it came to me with the heads off, completely disassembled. I am looking forward to getting it back on the road as soon as possible. Hopefully, you guys might provide a little info if you can.

The person who owned it passed away in the middle of a repairs. Unfortunately, I received the vehicle with the cylinder heads off and disassembled - all of it unmarked. I think I figured out which heads are left and right but I'm having trouble identifying the cams. I did find a little info but I want to be sure. A friend who is a Ford enthusiast gave me this this morning. I understand the Jags use ford engines but would the setup be any different in a Jag?

Drivers head
YF3E 6A273 AB exhaust
YF3E 6A271 AB intake
Pass head
YF3E 6A270 AB intake
YF3E 6A272 AB exhaust

Oops. Take out the Motorcraft prefix (YF3E) I have 6A273 AB, etc. stamped on the cams.

Welcome to the forum Capi,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Jaguars use Jaguar engines. The 5.0 litre Jaguar V8 is built at a separate Jaguar factory within the Ford Engine Plant at Bridgend in Wales.

I can see you've already found your way to the X250 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
