Default Hi

I'm new to the forum, but not particularly to Jaguar or Daimler.

I've currently owned my 340 since 1979 & before that owned a Daimler 250 v8.

I'm now retired (from mechanical engineering) but find I have so little time to spend on my car. The 340 was an auto but was converted to M.O.D. still retaining the high ration diff, which allows cruising at very few revs.

Even after owning the car for 35 years, I still find it impossible to complete all the outstanding jobs, as it's one step forward two back, as most Mk2 owners will probably tell you.

I hope to contribute something useful to the forum in the following months (although I doubt it somehow )

Regards,
John.

The costs of running the old girl never end.

Propshaft off next, for attention to the sliding spline & 1 UJ.

But I wouldn't part with it for the World.

John,

If it's any consolation, at least you are running a model where the propshaft UJ's and spline can be overhauled.

On later models the entire assembly is now a non-serviceable item and must be completely replaced as a unit.

Graham
