Default Hi All

I've just signed up and am looking forward to picking up a few tips.
My current Jag is one of the earliest (1997) V8 XJRs. I'm told it was orriginally owned by Jaguar and was shipped around the shows and because of the Jaguar's dealership's computers don't recognise it as it's a V8 in the earlies shell (X300??).

Previous Jag history started when my old man owned a filling station with a second hand car showroom when I was 8. I spent endless (seemingly) hours sitting in a Daimler in that showroom. My first Jag was a ('78 I think) Series 11 5.3 V12 in the late 80s. Thirsty, but enormous fun. I later had a 4.0 Sport for a few years. I picked the current one up a couple of months ago from an old friend who was the second owner.

My other passion is bikes. My current favourite is my supercharged Triumph Rocket 111. 2.3ltrs. of mayhem.

Joker, Welcome to the site. There's a wealth of information here when needed. Nice rides! Wish my 99xj8 was an xjr, oh well.

As far as I know, earlier X308s ('97 ) can be found in the UK market so are '94 X300s

Welcome to the forum Joker, nice modes of transport you have there, although the bike would most likely scare me shirtless

Hi, back! Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new here myself and I know nothing about cars past checking the oil level, but I'm thoroughly enjoying the site.

I love your Jag! She's a beauty. I have a real thing for red.

Thanks for the welcome.

Sorry Jim, forgive my ignorance, what does FFA sorted mean?

The XJR is really a stop gap. Given its age, and the fact that it's already had a couple of "advises" on corrosion (underneath) I'm expecting the body to give up in a year or two. Still cheaper than the depreciation on a new Mondeo over 2 or 3 years, if you ignore the fuel bills.

When it eventually fails I'll be looking for a decent XKR and will be picking up tips on those as the time approaches.

I bought this one with the intention of using the engine and drive train in a trike. Boys n their toys eh?
