Default Hi from Australia

Hi all

I've just acquired an x300 XJR...a car I've wanted for SO long now.
It took more than 3 years of searching until I found the right one.
British Racing Green, 90 000km, near perfect condition.
A couple of things to do to get it A+++.
No regrets, a shame used vehicles are so expensive in Australia though...$20K.
Everyone says I'm far too young to own a Jag, but what am I gonna drive, a Toyota Camry?

Look forward to learning a lot here.

John

Default Welcome to Jaguar Forums

Hi there John. Welcome aboard JaguarForums, and greetings from a fellow enthusiast in Australia. Great advice from Norri to edit your signature for ongoing accuracy with any advice you seek.

Big place Australia, as you know, so give us a hint as to where you are. If in NSW or ACT, then use the link in my sig to jump over and say "hello" to lots of other members around you - all ready and willing to make your JF experience a friendly and productive time. If you live elsewhere, then jump into the appropriate State regional section from the main menu; post an entry in the appropriate roll call thread; and check out the action.

All that remains is for you to jump in; enjoy; and YELL if you need help.
Best wishes,
Ken

Welcome to the forum JohnF,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Follow Norri's link in post #2 to the X300 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Default I've got it!

Hi again John.
Something in your post has been tugging at the edges of my mind all afternoon and evening and . . . finally . . . the penny has dropped! After a love affair with Jaguar for nigh on 40 years, I'm wishing I had been able to start even earlier . . . and I'm also wishing I still had a hold on even half those Jaguars that I have passed on to other owners.

So John, for what it's worth . . . you are never too young. Iignore the "everyone" and you decide the path you will follow. If you value your XJR with committed maintenance and services, it will reward you with excellent ride and performance. I guarantee it will not take long for you to see what a "head turner" the XJR can be! An excellent choice for building your knowledge, skills and confidence in tackling your own work on the car.

And we are still bustin' to know where you hail from - NSW? QLD? Lord Howe Island?
Best wishes,
Ken

John, that's great and very glad to have you join us at a time when activity in the north of NSW is starting to simmer along nicely. We have just had an inaugural meet and greet with our SEQ neighbours at Ballina last weekend. Another is being scoped out for (possibly) Inverell. Please don't feel we are hounding you but, being fairly laid back regional Aussies, many of us have matured from first name terms to wanting to get together occasionally . . . share our experiences and knowledge. Please let me know if you are interested.

If you use the link in my signature (or navigate manually), pop over to the NSW&ACT forum and say hello there. We have members along the Hunter, at Armidale, along the coast like myself or out west at Cobar. While over in the NSW&ACT regional forum, jot down a new post in the Roll Call thread, where I will then add you and your details to our rolling Membership List.
Dive in John. YELL if you need help, but most of all . . . enjoy!
Ken
