Hi Everyone
Hi,everyone! I'm a new convert to the Jaguar brand. I used to be a diehard fan of the Lexus brand (hence the username) since 1990, but now ever since they changed their priorities from outright luxury to sportiness as demonstrated by the new Lexus GS, F-sport etc, I have now found myself calling Jaguar my favourite car. My Dream Car used to be the Lexus LS600hL but now its the Jaguar XJL Supercharged which I hope to purchase in the near future.
Anyway my first query is regarding the current XJ:-
Does it actually have illuminated control stalks on the steering?
Hope someone can clarify...
Thanks guys!

Welcome Lexusboy,
Twenty two years with the same marque and now jumping ship. If you're the typical loyal customer, Lexus have seriously misjudged their latest offering!
Good luck with your spec checks on the XJL.

Regarding Lexus, its been one of the greatest tragedies of my life having to give up the brand having been crazy bout it since I was a kid growing up in Dubai.
Anyway I was smitten when I drove an XJL 3.0 V6D last year. Jaguar seems to have a perfect range with only big high end models, no BS hybrids or econocars. But of course they need to expand the range in order to stay competitive & profitable.
By the way, the jaguarforums site is quite intimidating to browse & explore unlike the lexus forum site Lexus Enthusiast | Lexus News & Information Blog

I've been driving a 2002 SC430 for the past ten years, and just bought a new XJL last week. (My wife now inherits the Lexus, lol.)
I'm not sure that I completely understand your question about illuminated "control stalks." The control buttons on the steering wheel are illuminated, but the rest of the column is not. I also have the illumination package so my air vents are all bathed in blue light. I love the look and highly recommend this option.
The SC430 is a fantastic design IMO (even though convertibles aren't my thing). Especially the interior wood layout with powered audio panels. Using an SC for ten years is testament to old school Lexus quality & durability.
Oh, okay, now I understand. I just double-checked my car this evening and the control stalks do not light up. However, all of the controls and buttons on the steering wheel itself do light up.
Nice one guys!
Its rather odd & ambiguous for a Jag fan to have the username "Lexus" unless that was actually my real name
I thought of "Jaguarboy" but that sounded more like a character from Jungle Book
Guess I'm sticking to it for sentimental value (been using it for the past 10 years!) but of course new suggestions are always welcome
