Hi! New to the forum
Hey-- Used to be a Jag owner... had a couple mid-80's XJ6's I converted to V8. Had a girlfriend that had a V-12 XKE convertible in high school... Wish I still could drive that car... not as sure about the girlfriend though. I am waiting to take delivery of a 2004 XK8... very patiently waiting.... I am really eager to have it. I am in Central Florida, and work in Orlando. Thanks! Mark
Hmmm.. That my friend is the annoying question.
I purchased (put a deposit) on the car almost a month ago. It had a trouble code light that the Dealer is trying to fix. It seems it is like watching the Keystone Cops, as they have ordered the wrong parts like 3 times now. The issue appears to be a bad clockspring in the airbag system. Otherwise the car is SWEET. I just keep patiently waiting for them to make it right. If things go well, I guess I could have it by the weekend, but, I have hoped that for the last 4 weeks.

Hope the 'missing in action' XK8 turns up soon. At least you should know the airbag is 100% tested if you ever have the misfortune to need it.
That 1950 Chevrolet must be a very large vehicle. It makes the twin axle trailer look small.

Graham... Actually it's a '36 Chevrolet. The selection boxes on your software only go back as far as 1950! LOL. The size on them is strange. The cabin is absolutely HUGE in the back seat area-- it has like limo size space back there, but in the front it is very cramped because the bodys come together at the front... Then they look big because they have the huge front fenders and running board hanging off them. I estimate the finished weight on this car around 3500 pounds which is pretty light in my opinion... It has been a fun and very ambitious project on my part. Mark

I'd seen 1936 in part of the description and then 1950 elsewhere and thought you must be having to use some later major components.
So it is all original 1936. Definitely is an ambitious project and will eat up a lot of dedication, time and money. Always great to see that kind of commitment.
Jaguar should be a piece of cake after that.

It's was a complete 1936 car, replaced the running gear (engine/transmission) from a '93 Chevrolet Camaro, rear end from a mid 80's Jag.. and some other odd bits. But, for the most part, when it is done-- it will look pretty stock!

NP & Thanks! I have some good experience, and am a bit of a car nut. I'm sure I can contribute to the forum. Glad you are here, as I know my new car has some minor issues I need to work on. I hope to get some help from the Tech section if I can't figure it out on my own... MC
"Missing in Action" is coming home tomorrow! 2004 XK8 Convertible. Quartz metallic, 18" Centaurs, a few little extras inside. The dealer has officially given up trying to fix the airbag light. They have spent a month and about $800 on it. I am going to take it and hopefully troubleshoot it myself. I probably have more motivation, and better resources (like this forum). I will have to think of a new name for the car now... MC
Well, No. They replaced the clockspring and the seat sensor. It is throwing a Driver's side airbag code. I don't think they knew what they were doing-- they took it to the Jag ***********, and they told them to replace components that don't even exist on this model. I have access to tech repair libraries and tools.. so, I am willing to chance it. The price I gave for the car is way down at the wholesale level, and it is very very clean. So.. I am just biting the bullet. I have faith in myself I can figure it out. MC
