Unhappy hi there ,i drive a 2.0 diesel v6 sport

my car starter is barely turning the engine over, when it does start the engine revs rise rapidly whilst driving as if the clutch is slipping,my local mechanic says I have to replace the dual mass fly wheel, clutch assembly and slave cylinder as well as the starter motor,i am a bit wary as I have just spent,£3200 getting injectors tank and diesel pump fitted and don,t really want to spend more than I have to.can anyone advise?

Welcome to the forum jonmar6242,

That's a serious amount of money to be putting into a 2006 vehicle.

Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the UK Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-68/ to find other members in this country.

Enjoy the forum.
