Hi all, I've got an 03 X-Type 2.1 Petrol called Jezebel that I've owned for just over a year now.
Great car, I'd say the best I've had (I mainly had old-style Mini's in the past lol) and she has been a good girl all year.
Recently I did a little electrical work around the radio and something went wrong. That's sorted and I'm not sure if it's related or just very very bad co-incidence, but I'm now getting Error P1646 - Gearbox Fault and she just limps along. Code clears ok with a reader and everything seems fine, but then comes back on.
Everything online seems to relate to the O2 sensor, but really not sure that is right in this case. Any help would be appreciated

P1646 is ECM HO2 Sensor control malfunction – bank 1 upstream (1/1). If you clear the code but don't fix the cause, it will come back after after two consecutive 'trips'.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
