Default Howdy from Colorado Springs

We now own 2 Jaguars. We bought a 2019 E Pace P250 last year and my wife loves it. It’s nice. I like the way it drives. Really effortless acceleration. Not blazingly fast, but just right. I get to drive it once a month or so or when it needs to go in for service. The “in for service “ part is where I got in trouble. Every time I took it to the dealer I’d drool over the F Types they had on the lot.

This year I bought myself a Christmas present. I found a certified used 2018 P340 F Type with around 10k worth of options and 3280 miles. Pristine and 1/2 what it went for new.

I’ve always been a fan of British sports cars. The brits have a certain style that appeals to me. My dream car is an Aston Martin Vantage. $150k for their “entry level” model. I won’t have to ever worry about owning one of those. The F Type was a close second. They are both drop dead gorgeous. Thank you Mr Callum.

Took my little beauty for a loop through the front range (foothills of the Rocky Mountains) the first day I had her. They got this car oh so very right. It’s refined, yet brash and a little bit raw and unrefined at the same time.

The so called “ loud pedal” is just that in this car. Step on it and the engine roars with the exhaust bellowing a symphony of exquisite noise out the back. The F Type has one of the nicest sounds of anything short of a Maserati or Ferrari. The kitty snarls on acceleration and pops on deceleration in the most ear pleasing manner. In true old time British sports car fashion the jag just makes you smile because it sounds and drives so awesomely well. A quiet subdued luxury car it isn’t. The little beast just leaps forward inducing an ear to ear grin and a need to do that again.

Getting into the twisty, hilly parts had me at full attention, both hands on the superbly done, leather wrapped wheel, pedal down and ripping it up, literally just laughing out loud. This F Type goes. It corners like a true sports car should. The brakes haul you down from ludicrous speed with ease and it’s simply a joy to drive as a sports car is meant to be driven. It’s a driver’s or at least for me, a wanna be driver’s car at it’s finest. I have taken these roads many times before on motorcycles and the jag was almost equal to any one of them. Definitely equal in the fun department.

Fortunately I’m now old and mature enough not to get to carried away and can drive it with some restraint. Yeah right.

Hello,
Congratulations on your Latest Jaguar!
I hope I never get so old I don't appreciate going fast around corners.

I’m 65. I used to race motorcycles. I crashed a few times over the years and ended up a little worse for wear. I still love going fast, but I don’t push it nearly as hard as I used to. Especially on public roads. Once an adrenaline junkie always an adrenaline junkie. I still get on a race track and go for it. Just on slower bikes than I used to. 80% and smooth lines will still get you some pretty decent lap times and the rush you need.

Nice cars! I’m new here as well, and also from Colorado Springs.
