I'm new, Names Marvin
Howdy! I'm a new owner of a 1987 Jaguar XJ6. Love the car, but, not the switches.
I found the car three weeks ago (4/15/2013) on craigslist. The gentleman I bought it from inherited it from his father, but decided he didn't want it. (most of the Lucas switches are going out) I've always wanted a Jaguar, and when I found this one I jumped on it. It's silver with a red interior. The headliner is gone, and the bottom of the back seat has lost its dye color, so it's on the brown side, but I'll fix that. It's currently missing the cat from the hood, but I'll fix that too.
The price? A whopping $750.00!!!!

Welcome to the forum Marvin,
A 1987 could be a late Series III or an early XJ40. Even with the 'to do' list that was a good deal!
Follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 Series III section or this one XJ40 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ40 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You may also like to visit the US Northwest Region section by following this link Northwest - Washington/Oregon/Idaho & SW Canadians - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forum.
