Default Intro

Hi Allan from New Zealand. VIN SAJKC51LX5WE45778 2005 X Type Sovereign 3L 108000 km. Japanese impor into NZ 2016 which is when I bought the car. So far I have replaced ABS module with a second hand one. Refurbed my headlight adjusters with metal insert/3D printed ones and did opaque lens covers at same time, (second hand headlights off wrecked car), replaced inner wheel guards second hand, new rear brake rotors and pads (aftermarket), new battery, replaced quad stereo speakers, new toothed accessory drive belt, (Jag part), new windscreen after crack kept growing. Replaced 18" wheels that were on it with 17's new nice mags, giving better ride.

To Do: Headlining sagging due to hot sun and glue failure. Rear shocks clunking, could be rubber bushes??? Just developed misfire cyl 3 on recent 100km return trip and will ask advice on this on seperate thread. Error Codes: P0303, P1313, P1316 and P0193

Purchased $NZ6K, wheels and tyres $2K and have spend $1.5K on repairs and maintenance. Insurance value now only $2K believe it or not so any prang would be a disappointing right off.

Ok thats my intro.

Welcome to the forums allyshake,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Australia - New South Wales / ACT Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...-wales-act-93/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Allan,
Congratulations on your new-to-you Jaguar X-type!
It's not too surprising to me that your insurance puts such low values your Jag.
As they're in the business to Make money, they're loathe to Pay Out unless they absolutely must.
But you can be pleased with all the work, time and money you have spent on your new Jag. It will repay you with many Thousands of miles/hours of driving pleasure.

Welcome to the forums from ElinrB.
