Default Introduction

I have been driving the Xtype 3.0 AWD 2008 A/T since 2011. The vehicle is going well though wear and tear is understandably up with 319200 km's on the clock. I carry out service regularly myself and learning other upkeep tips on online forums. I am hoping to drive this Jag for more years. Grateful to be on this informative forum and keen to learn as a self-taught "maintenance man", not mechanic.

Prior to that had a XJ8 Sovereign 4.0 A/T naturally aspirated unfortunately was written off due to accident which badly affected rear suspention. Also had a JX SUPERV8 SC 2006 which blew 5 pistons due to prior conditions unbeknown to me. Only had it for 8 months but couldn't get recourse from LRJ or (then current) Warranty Company, got litigation fatigued and gave up.

Hello,
Congratulations on your Long-Lived Jaguar!
With continued proper care and feeding it should indeed give you many more years of faithful service.

I have heard this for years, that Large Companies with a Large Legal Department, which has nothing else to do but field warranty matters, if there's any way they can get away with it they merely wear the complainants down until they give up. I'm sorry this has happened to you.

Welcome to the forums form ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Moeketsi,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Other Areas Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/other-areas-43/ to find other members in your part of the World.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
