Default Jaguar ECM ECU Repair

Hi Guys,

I just found the forum and wanted to say hi.

I'm George from Specialized ECU Repair, where we repair and rebuild Jaguar ECMs, an many other European car brands.

I know that commercial posts aren't cool, but we know A LOT about these Jaguar ECUs and we'd love to help with advice.

Ask away and I'll also pitch in wherever I come across a topic that I can add value to.

Welcome to the forum George,

As I said in the other thread we see many members with ECU questions of one kind or another, hopefully you will have the answers.

Good to have you on board.

I have a question, I had a quick look at your website and when I chosse Jaguar from your drop down list the choices are very limited.
I assume that you can accommodate units from models other than those listed?

Ok if I may start. What are usually the parts that fail on the ECU's (for instance on the 4.0 16 bit versions), and how do these become apparent?

Avos, you're welcome to start but, we don't want to have a technical discussion here.
George, how about starting an ECU thread in the General tech section and see where that goes?

Hi Norri and Avos.

I would be HONORED to answer ECU Tech Questions if you start an ECU Questions thread. I can get my Jaguar ECM technician involved and I know that it is going to be SUPER helpful. (He can get very technical, but maybe that's just what some people want.)

As of today the Jaguar ECU choices on the website show the most popular XK8 and XJ8 models that we can Exchange and Repair.

There are other models that we also work on like: XJS from 1983-1988, XJ6 from 1982-1997, and others, but since we like to include wiring diagram schematics and ECU pinouts when I list the units, along with some other technical info, so I haven't put on the listings yet.

In terms of newer Jaguars from 2000 and on...I haven't received any calls from my local Dealerships or from independent mechanics asking for help. So I haven't chased that avenue yet.

(Avos...I have a really good list of the most common problems that these ECUs suffer from. I can post it on another thread dedicated to ECU questions.)
