Default Electronic Park Brake again.

An ongoing saga. I still have the EPB fault showing. The breaks have been replaced and function correctly. I have replaced the EPB ecu with a second hand one and the amber light always comes on as soon as i apply the EPB after resetting the system as described in other posts. My garage has checked all the wiring around the motor and can find nothing loose. If i disconnect the connectors from the ecu the fault, of course, doesnt show. My question is this. Would it be possible to overide the signal saying there is a fault. Im thinking, cutting the correct wire. I am reliably informed that the brakes are working 100% so I am not worried about bypassing this fault. I Would be very grateful if someone had a wiring diagram showing which wire to cut or has a better idea. I have done all the other things mentioned on the forums except changing the break motor and cables. I am reluctant to do this as it would cost lotsa £££ and may not even work.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

There is no such wire. Network packets fly around instead.

Why not read the code stored in the module (*) to see what it shows as the problem?

(*) may as well read all modules

I would think the advice given the last two times the OP presented this problem would still apply.

I also tried used EPB modules to fix my EPB system failure back in the May/June timeframe. The first one we tried would not even show up as readable via AutoLogic. The second one we tried could be read by AutoLogic but would never completely clear. It took a brand-new module combined with the necessary reprogramming via AutoLogic once the new module was in place to completely clear and resolve my EPB system failure....

There are multiple revisions of these EPB modules. If the used one you are trying pre-dates your car's factory module, I don't believe you'll ever be able to get the used module to work....

The description given by the OP points away from the module.

The easiest fix and first thing to try is to disconnect the negative battery cable only! You might have to loosen the bar that holds the battery in place to get enough slack to move the cable. Wait at least fifteen minutes and then reconnect the negative battery cable. When you disconnect the negative battery like this it resets most of the computers in the car, EPB included. I'll bet the car drives better too. It worked for my 2003 S Type.

It clears the learned values (in the PCM) for the minute characteristics of the engine so if it drives better after that then something's changed - like a repair being done - and on relearning it's done a better job.

You may need the radio code and will need to re-do the one-touch windows.

I have had my 2007 2.7d S Type for four weeks the garage did not know it had cam belts so under the guarantee they replaced them with the cost of the belts to me £160 just as well because the belts had started to shred ,Oh then there is the hand break fault apparent on purchasing but not thought to be a problem as the battery had been flat while standing on the for court, then altinator burned out another £160 quid fortunately I did not have to pay for the labour or recovery, so now we still have the problem of the hand break that has been striped cleaned and re fitted F.O.C but is still faulty Phillip is not very happy to the point of sending it back ( REJECT) apart from all that the car is fantastci have to see what they surest this week as its been back in the garage ever week since I have had it !!
