just bought an '88 xj6
hello fellas! (and Ladies). I just bought a 1988 xj6. I like it and it only has a few minor cosmetic problems. Mainnly the interior and the missing hood ornament. But it runs good. I only had one complaint and that was absolutly no bottom end power! plus i saw where the shift indicater had a light for first gear but the j shifter doesnt have a selection for it. However i cant complain because believe it or not the car only cost me a little less than $1200. Anyways just wondering about ur thoughts and any warnings.

Hey bigshoes, welcome to the forum....you got one of Caddies fav Jags...he loves them older models and knows quite a bit I guess.
There are other experts / members and techs too, so try posting into the relevant section and you may get better help there.

OMG I love my car I got it for $700 it had some eletrical problems. I took all the connectors apart and cleaned them. The air doesnt work and it needs new brakes,I dont know why these cars get such a bad rap. I mean do ppl not know how to change a fuse or fix a short. Other than that very very smooth,It needs new work and a new cat for the hood. I can live with that,I just hope it doesnt become a nightmare but so far very nice car. A still for the money I thank God I got it.
