I just bought my first one yesterday - replaced the fuel pump and got it home today :-) This is a "restoration project" - it runs and drives well, but look pretty ugly at the moment, and does have some issues. My first big issue (to be addressed tomorrow, I hope) is fixing at very minimum the driver's side door handle. All four door handles are broken - I have to use a slim-jim to get into the car at the moment. That doesn't look suspicious at all right? ;-)
I'm also blogging my restoration effort as I go along (along with another restoration I'm working on, my 1967 Land Cruiser) on my blog: Midnight Ryder's Blog
Looking forward to bringing my new Jag back up to good looking condition! :-)

You'll wanna post technical questions in the "XJ40" section, by the way.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum,
I think you should continue with the slim jim and see how long it is before some one challenges you.

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com.
Oh one other thing you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for.
Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Gus: Did as you suggested and added Baby Jaguar to my sig :-)
And I finally did update my restoration blog - not huge advances on the restoration (and one MAJOR aggravation!), but slow and steady wins the race, right? ;-)
Baby Jaguar Update – those stinkin’ blinkers!
