Hello people! I don't know what took so long as I am tech savy AND been a Jag owner since 2003. Traded my 01 XJ8 VDP Supercharged earlier this year for and 08 XJ8L. Went looking for a LS460 or 750Li but ended up buying this Love it except the part that:
a) No leaper? Dealer wants $500 to install...sucks!
b) iPhone hookup (ACM) Dealer wants $600ish (parts + labor). I am monitoring the thread in the forum re. this.

I still miss my supercharger but the ride is so much improved & the grill is great in the front. Check out my "3" photos in the Album


All said, I still turnaround and look at it when I walk away from it ...

And I completely agree how Jag has changed but yet remains the same. I sat in the car & almost knew where everything was.

You should have a leaper soon , I think a Jaguar w/o leaper is like a leopard w/o dots lol

 

GET THE LEAPER and some wheels on it lol (Jeff might sell you the Polaris 19s if you like them off his)

I have to say you def. did right going against the toyota, however the 7 series is pretty good too

Hope you enjoy the XJ8L, I sure do like mine. I have always had a spot in my heart for a Jaguar and as the economy was in a shambles, that was the time for me to purchase a new one at a very good price. As for the "Leaper" on the bonnet, I too was thinking about it, but as time goes by I am getting used to the new look. My local dealer also quoted me around $500 to install the ACM. Can't believe in this day and age a motorcar without being able to connect an I-pod.

... Now I'm just curious. I think I just might have to wait for the wheels as the wife is on my case about spending the kids college fund! I did get the windows tinted (20%) and am talking to a local a/v installer about the headrest monitors with a DVD/SD card hookup. I am trying to be choosy about it as I don't want to mess up my headrest or wiring.

sanand911, I'm gettin' used to the look of the "Polaris", so for the time being I holding on. And I to have to keep the wife at bay. First thing I've done on all my overland trucks was upgrade the tires from the OEM's. The wife wasn't receptive to wheel change-out on a brand new Jag. (Guess it's a guy thing)
