I am a new mumber.I would like to know how to go about tracking
my 2000 xj8 manufacture date and if it was built before Ford took over the company.
I have emailed Jaguar and got no reply.

Jaguar are obliged to affix a plate with Date of Manufacture on vehicles sold in Australia but I don't know if this also applies in New Zealand? If not, they are always very reluctant to disclose the information. However, a 2000 XJ8 was built during the Ford ownership of Jaguar (1999 - 2008). The engine number includes its date of manufacture and a Jaguar Dealer can lookup the date of dispatch of the completed vehicle which will usually be within a few days of completion.
