Default Light Issues

I am new to jags. I love the way this car looks and drives but the lights are driving me nuts. The right rear stop light wont work. When the brake is applied the light blinks for a split second but does not stay lit. The module clicks but does not stay up. I replaced the rr brake module to no avail. When flashers are turned on the bulbs flash as they should (same bulbs as brake light). How do I troubleshoot this problem? What actually turns the brake module on for brake lights. Also I dont know if it is connected but the right front blinker does not work (blinker or flasher). I can open up the light module and push in the relay on the pcb and it works so its not a wire issue from the module to lamp. The module does not click like the right left. PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks.

Welcome to the forum 1994jigglywirexj6,

Jaguar electrics can be a bit of a pain at times.

Follow this link XJ40 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ40 section for help, advice and information. The guys there will have the answers on brake light issues. It's a while since I had my XJ40 but I recall problems with bulb quality, light modules and the pedal switch.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Mid Atlantic Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/mid-atlantic-md-va-dc-de-wv-65/ to find other members in your region.

Hope it's an easy fix.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham
