Default A Little Late But.....Hello :-)

Hey guys/gals!

I missed this section and went straight to posting...LOL Anyhow my name is Logan and I just bought my first Jaguar. It is a 1994 Jaguar XJ12 and I am loving it big time. I understand it is a big risk falling in love with these cars because of the expense that can occur, but I am going to give it a shot anyhow. My dad has been in Jags for the last 20 years so when he finds out this is going to surprise him.

Anyhow, from what I have seen so far this is a friendly space so that is good news. I am sure you will hear from me plenty cause I am a question asker. Take care

peace out,
daddylogan

Welcome Logan, you're already famous over here, Renault named a car after you!!!

Question away, we won't always get it right, but we try.

Also use the search features at the top of the forum, most issues will have been covered at some point or another.

Enjoy the V12.

Well, now I'm late welcoming you...... So were even!

1994...XJ12... Hmmm... I think I may have a sales brochure from 94... I'll have to check my archives... If the wheels on it are original, it may be a special edition car.... Hmmm.. I think I'll have to be nerdy as usual and look it up....

Yes...please look it up! All info I can get...I am like a sponge right now so load me up with facts. I am pretty sure the wheels are original for the spare in the trunk has the same design and looks brand new.

Hard to believe this baby listed for $73,000.00 back in 1994. Now ya look at the price value and my god....it makes ya wanna cry.

peace out,
daddylogan

So, I did a little research... The wheels on your car came out on the XJ6 "Majestic" edition cars with red accents... That was in 1989. They brought them back for the XJ12. What I did learn that is pretty cool.. The xj40 body ran from 89 to 94 but the XJ12 was only made in late 93 and 94. 1995 saw the update to the X300 body.
You've got one rare cat!

Sort of... XJ40 is a body designation... Kinda like a Chevy Cavalier is known in GM as a J Body. So for most of the XJ40's run it was only a XJ6, then at the end of the run Jaguar introduced the XJ12 into the line. The wheels were first seen on Majestic edition XJ6's from 1989 that were red cars with the mesh wheels with red accents (I knew I had seen those on a special edition before). So, Jaguar put those wheels on the XJ12, less the red accents, when it was released in late 93. XJ12's are rare to begin with. Yours is really rare since it was only produced in that body style for 1.5 years. Take care of her.....

Thank you again bro! Great info there. So you say she is rare? In the world of Jag's how rare would that be and what would one normally pay for her in above average condition?

Thanks again for the education...priceless man :-)

peace out,
daddylogan
