Default Looking at buying an XJS.

Hello all, just wondering if anyone would be able to help me. I am looking at buying a 95 XJS convertible and was looking for a Jaguar site that would give me the service history of the car, I have the VIN number and I know some makes have a web site where you just punch in the vin and get the history on the car. The car is in Phoenix and was told it was serviced at the local Jag dealer.

Thanks so much!!
mdpuff.

Not that mine is the final word but I'm not aware of any such resource or data base.

Jaguar certainly kept a history or *warranty* repairs but whether or not a dealer (or the corporation) would release them to you is iffy at best....if they still have them after 15 years.

The local Jag dealer where the car was serviced *might* give you a print out of out-of-warranty repairs and service visits but I wouldn't count on it.

Good luck

Cheers
DD

I have my eye on an XJS too, same year, 95, only a coupe. I have two more garage stalls to fill and one reluctant wife!

Get your wife to drive the car and I think her mind might be changed! ( tell her it's "Her" car and she will be hooked! )

Ha, ha..."Her car" is already an X350, so with two other Jags and a Z3 in the garage now it's downhill for me and an XJS project car.

She's been driving BMWs and Jags for 15 years years now, so no way to impress her...Except maybe....A Bentley.

Thank you so much for the warm reception. I have to say this forum is very close to the same as the Lexus forum I am a member of. I do appreciate fine cars, Love the Lexus SC430's and looking forward to testing the waters of Jag ownership! Wish me luck!
