My name is Tim, I just bought a 1998 Jaguar xj8L. I always wanted that car. I love the body style. I am trying to learn as much as I can about the car. I have had some bumps so far, However, I am going to stick it out.

Thank you I have noticed all the information on the forums. I am having problems with my ac compressor not kicking on. I have put power to the compressor to see if the compressor was not working and it works but won't stay on when i remove the jumper wire. sometimes it stays on from 5 to 20 minutes and sometimes it won't stay on at all. any advice would be much appreciated.

welcome cajun! As this is your run-of-the-mill introduction thread, with HI and welcomes, its best you take any model specific question over to the owners with similar model(s). I hope you feel comfortable to join in the community, share and share alike, proper etiquette is required and above-average manners are expected from all our members, veteran and newly registered. There is a link in my signatuer, if you haven't had a chance to read the new member thread, please do so when you can. It explains much of what you need to know to fit right in around the forums.

Enjoy yourself!

Hello Tim and welcome to jaguarforums.com.

If you haven’t already you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for. To do this go to, User CP, Edit Signature, Add Vehicle Details and such and Save Your Signature.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Also, should you have questions related to your vehicle please post it in the section for your model year (MY) car. This way you will reach all the members that are familiar with your MY car.
