Monday's a big day for me
I'm picking up my new (to me) 2004 XJ VP with 22,000km (13,000miles) tomorrow. Dark green with tan interior. It's mint and in beautiful condition.
I've wanted an XJ ever since I was a youngster in England, so this is a dream come true.
I've been looking at new jags for a couple of years, but couldn't justify the price right now, then this deal came along late last week and it's all done and put to bed.
I haven't been able to sleep properly - I keep dreaming about the car!!! Crazy eh?
The only things that move me as much (aprt from wife and kids) are my Triumph motorbikes!
Question: there's still warranty on the car, is there anything I should be checking for before the wearranty runs out?

Congratulations, the car and color combination is striking. Good luck sleeping the next few days after getting her...just when you think you can. lol
As for warranty items to look for, there's more than several threads around here that will give you an indication of what to keep an eye out for. If you can't find something specific. then feel free to start a new thread and get into details. Its actually quite enjoyable reading thru the older posts, reading about problems and troubleshooting, and then reading about how it was solved. I've even browsed the other model areas looking for good reads.

First drive today!
Wow, what a car. I'm in love. I never thought I'd love a car as much as one of my bikes, but I do.
Comfort, stabilty, agility, power, looks. It's just gorgeous. I feel younger, slimmer and sexier - and richer!
I love my bikes because the experience of riding is so elemental and raw. You experience everything - including fear! The jag though, slows the whole world down, cushions you from the intrusions of elements and road surface and traffic, but you still enjoy the drive. It also sticksin the corners - I went round some of my favourite biking roads this afternoon (2 x plus 10) and never came unglued.
Going 70mph is like going 40 in another car, but 40 in this car is still fun.

Congrats on the new car Haggis
One thing i"d be looking at is getting a Jaguar Extended Warranty
Apco/ Extra Mile or even Select Edition if you can
Well worth the peace of mind knowing if and when your car needs repairs they"ll be repaired with
Jaguar remanafacturedparts
instead of salvaged parts from a wecking yard
