Smile A Mustard Intro

Hi All! I am a new owner of a Sweet 1996 Jaguar XJS convertible. Of course its not NEW. Had 101K miles. Belonged to my mother who no longer drives it. Its been in the garage for 3-4 years. It has the straight 6-cyl engine with automatic.

I posted a message on the XJS forum. I am having issues with the computer that wont allow the car to pass the Texas state inspection. Getting 4 no ready signals. Been told to drive and drive and drive it. So far I have put almost 800 miles and still not working. Replaced the thermostat. And that did not correct the problem.

It was last inspected in Dec 2009. I'm pretty sure this problem has plagued my folks. That is why is was parked in the garage for so long. They just gave it to me. And hope I can get it fixed.

If you know of any solutions. Please go to the XJS forum and post to my thread. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum David,

I see the XJS section members are starting to respond with suggestions. Hope it's as simple as servicing and giving it a workout.

Enjoy the forum.

Hi David,

I really wanted to see what a Mustard intro was, but now figure you were caught at the mercy of some auto-complete thing.

The XJS is an impressive automobile, you have my very best wishes for an early resolution to your problems with it and can enjoy driving it the security of a valid registration.

Welcome to the forum!

Steve

Isn't JF member Motorcarman in Plano?

If so, you really must get to know him and his indy shop. If he can't figure it out, no one can.

BTW, Colonel Mustard didn't do it.

Welcome to the forum.

Good advice from Plums.

A visit to Motorcarman will be well worth the trip.
