Hello all. Purchased a '97 XK8, 101,000 miles, with an offer I just couldn't refuse. Really excited about acquiring then shortly afterwords was introduced to "bugs", the main reason for joining this group. Got my feet wet with the easy stuff; plugs, coils, coil harness, passenger side coil module, etc. Still show a P1000 code with the display reading; ENGINE FAULT - POOR VEHICLE PERFORMANCE, with rough idle, stalls, misses and zero acceleration. Over the near future I will be diving into this forum and picking the brains of folks that have "been there". Thanks for having me as I really would like to rub shoulders with owners that believe the XK has lines to be admired.

Dennis

Welcome to the forum Dennis,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

P1000 is NOT a fault, it's a status. You will ALWAYS see one of the following:

P1000: on-board diagnostic tests have not been completed.
P1111: all on-board diagnostic tests have been completed.

It sounds like you've already found the model forum but if not, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Central Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-central-36/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello, Dennis,
I'm sorry to read about your trouble with your new Jaguar. However, Graham has directed you to the proper section where you can get help for not only those problems, but any others you might encounter later.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
