Default My first Jaguar after 18 years of Japanese cars

Hi,

I recently sold my RX8 R3 and Passat tdi estate to consolidate into one nicer car as my daily. I wanted something with a autobox, good performance, good economy, nice interior and looks. After looking at was available in my price range.

I was torn between a XF or a Audi A5, after a few test drives I ended up going with the Jag and I have no regrets. I've got myself a XF S Premium Luxury. It's dark blue, anyone what know color this is called? It has cream leather with Piano black trim.

It's my first Jag, the first time one has ever appealed to me that's been within my price range. I can't believe you can get so much car for the money, it looks gorgeous, it's the most comfortable car I've ever driven and this is whilst having 20 inch alloys on which are also the biggest I've ever had, 18s on this car must feel like you're floating.

The interior is amazing, It looks twice as expensive as it is, is great on fuel, it has more extras than a zombie movie and is as fast the 350z I once owned. It obviously doesn't handle like an RX8 but it does handle very well for a car of it's weight.

I found the A5 which is a bit lighter to have understeer where as the Jaguar does nothing but inspire confidence the way it goes into corners. As you can probably tell by now, I absolutely love it! Also, being from Wolverhampton myself, it's been nice to learn about the history of Jaguar being so close to home.

I always like to mod my cars a little but nothing too dramatic. I started by ordering a S badge for the front grill, a OEM looking black jaguar button emblem for the gear knob that will go great the piano black trim, some led interior/number plate bulbs and after a long search for a mount that uses a decent location, I think I'm going to get a KUDA black leather phone mount that will sit in the middle of dash above the satnav screen for my note 4 so I'll have double touchscreens! More will follow!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I did try to add my signature and porifle picture but they aren't showing up yet, is that because I'm a new member?

You can add Signature, SigPic and profile pictures straightaway. There's no minimum time or post requirements.

Signature changes appear with your NEXT post - not immediately. This catches out a lot of members.

No, the 18s are also like the Flintstones driving on rocks. The difference is more akin to 18s are made of gypsum vs 20s are quartz. To float, you'd have to modify the suspension as the spring rates on these are 30% stiffer than was typical on a Jaguar 20 years ago. But if you like it the way it is, then that's what's important.

I didn't want it as a sigpic nor did I expect it to appear in my signature, I selected profile picture and expected it to show next to my name like yours does. No worries though, I can do without it.
