My First Jaguar and Post
Hello! I just bought my fist Jaguar - a 1990 XJ6.I have a couple questions of those in the know, especially folks like Jag Master.
This car is perfect cosmeticaly. Mechanically the story goes that the fellow before me had a 1989 replacement engine installed, or rather, partially installed. He says that he was told that the injection system is the one and only difference between the two years. I got the car for a song and I am a skilled mechanic albeit with very little european auto experience. I just bought the car tonight and have not even turned it over yet.
Does this business about the injection system being different sound accurate?
I have the '90 engine. Is it reasonable to think I can just swap the fuel injection components from the 90 to the 89, presuming that is indeed the one and only difference inthe engines?
Any preliminary advice for a Jaguar newbie before I dive in?
Thanks in advance!! I will post photos when I have the car delivered tomorrow.
