Default New 1998 XJ8 Owner

I just purchased a 1998 Jaguar XJ8 about 3 months ago. I am here just to get a few questions answered and hopefully learn some tips on how to make my jag last as long as possible. My first question is on the interior. I was wondering if I wanted to get it restored, if anyone knew an estimate. My basic restoration would incude:
New cup holder
Cloth hanging down fromoverhead in rear.
Wood grain steering wheel (if applicable)
New driver's seat
New A/C vent for rear
Wood grain shift knob
How much would all that be total, approximately? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forums

I will try to help you out as much as I can . Well, you can find a new cup holder but for a long life warranty get a metal hinges one because plastic ones are broken
I don't know about that cloth hangin down an upholstery shop must shed a light on this
Wood grain yes applicable , how much ? More than $200
New driver seat ? You really need this ? lol
A/C Vent , dealer but I hope ken has some in his stock
Wood grain , yes it depends on what stuffs are on it . It may differ $80 up to $ 10000 (jewellery and diamonds attached lol )

Welcome to the forums.

1. cupholder: $121.55
2. headliner falling: anywhere from $200 to $300 with a headliner specialist
3. wood grain steering wheel: $200 and would need the trim code to match the leater
4. driver's seat: check with a local upholstry shop on recovering what you have; much less expensive
5. rear a/c vent: $25 used
6. wood grain shift knob: $60 used if I have one

Hello and welcome to the forum tcage.

Good choice of car. I have the 2000 XJ8 LWB and have no trouble with her so far.

On my X..there is a sticker at the bottom of the center pillar below the driver's side door latch (US MODELS)that shows all that kind of info.. (PAINT andTRIM at bottom of sticker) I'm gonna assume it would be the same for other models as well.

Dennis is correct. Just PM or post the trim code, I will see what we have out in the yard.

I know it's been forever, but thanks for the reply. I think I need a new driver's seat because my rack under the seat that it moves back and forth on is broken and it kinda lops to one side. My back hurts it I drive for extended periods of time. Any ideas?

A bit like stepping back in time. A very late Welcome TC. You will probably get a better response if you post this over in the XJ8 section.

Mind you, the time it will take for this to get to you, you to post over there, receive a reply, and respond, it will probably have been renamed 'The Vintage XJ8 section'. LOL

All the best,

LOL, it's only because I just got off deployment. Thanks though, I'll make a new post.

Default Head Lining

I had NEW head lining done in my Sovreign and it only cost $120 N.Z. but it added $1000 to the personal satisfaction.
