Default 'New' 2003 X-Type owner in Illinois

Hi, Everyone!

I am a new owner of a 2003 Jaguar X-Type, 2.5L, Automatic. I moved to the X-Type from a 2016 Tesla Model S 70D because:
  • I could no longer afford the Tesla car payment
  • I looked for the best deal I could find on a one or two owner AWD car
  • I fell in love with the looks, comfort, driving attributes and personality of the X-Type over the used Subarus I was also considering (Note: Have also owned a Subaru, liked it, just went for more fun/lower price this time around)

Aside from saying hello (and posting pics, of course (smile)), I wanted to thank the incredibly helpful Jaguar owners who've helped me immeasurably over my past few weeks as a new/first-time Jag owner via your prior contributions to the following Jaguar Forum content:
  • Sticky X-Type How-To's
  • Articles/discussions related to X-Type:
    • Oil changes
    • Fluid recommendations
    • Automatic transmission servicing
    • Tune-ups
    • Mobile phone connectivity and more

Though this is my first post, the many valued contributions from Jaguar Forums members over the years have already helpes this particular 'new' Jaguar owner successfully complete:
  • An oil/filter change
  • Tune up/PCV valve replacement
  • Automatic transmission service
  • Accessorization (incl. hands-free mobile and all-weather mats)

Check out the attaches pics for a visual testament to what passed forum contributors helped me accomplish to-date, and feel free to say hello back, if you'd like. I look forward to learning more from Jaguar forum membera going forward (including the 'million pound question': am I right in thinking my Jaguar is JRG v BRG? &#128521.

Sincerely,

Tim N.

Apologies for the typos in the above post, as it was written on my phone and I don't appear to have the option to edit/correct (likely because I'm a new member(?)).

Welcome to the forums Tim,

Great Intro. You have clearly already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. To answer your questions:

1. post the three letter Paint Code from the manufacturer's label on the door pillar for a decode.

2. all Members have approximately 24 hours to edit posts after which time they are locked and only Moderators can then make changes. Go to the Edit button at the bottom right of any of your posts:

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
