I found this site in search of some insight into an engine that I picked up from a 1998 XJR SC. I plan to install it into a 1989 Nissan D21 pickup. Now before I get sandblasted by the purists, I want everyone to know, I would GLADLY own the XJR it came out of. WIth that said, I have gain an appreciation for this engine and am just facinated with it. In order to pull this off, I will need to draw from the knowlege of others, particularly regarding the onboard electronics for this platform.
About me: I am a powersports technician truned manufacturing plant engineer. I am mechanically inclined, and technically proficient with automotive technology. I work for a major manufacturer of bread goods in the U.S. I have many hobbies including home brewing, target shooting, off roading, street bikes, and personal watercraft. I like to push the envelope with projects, as I am doing once again.
I hope to gain some valuable information and share this build with like-minded engine heads!

Welcome to the forums Covidius Nineteen,
As the most regular scenario is an XJR (or XK8) with engine failure rather than body issues, I'm surprised you have managed to obtain a good engine. Before you start throwing time and money at the project, it's advisable to check it has not been overheated or has timing chain tensioner issues.
