Default New car, new member

Hello, got my first Jaguar, thought I would join the forum. I've got a few questions which I will post in the relevant parts of the forum, which looks very smart and informative. May as well start with a picture......

I went with an S Type as it looks great, fits me and the family and frankly it was a very good price. It has replaced a 9 year old, never failed an MOT or needed a breakdown service call out Volvo S80. I wanted something with a similar safety record. The S Type was the first car to beat the Volvo in Which? magazine's safety ratings. But thats a bit dull.
The Jaguar makes me want to drive it, the handling and grip are great, the comfort superb and so far it has been everything I hoped for. Its been like getting my first car again, I want to go out for a drive for the hell of it again!

purty, and you did correctly... a picture on a new member introduction was the right thing to do. Gotta ask though, what made you choose the light blue color?

Thanks for the welcome Cadillac.

H20boy, I didn't choose the colour. The Jag was sitting there saying 'buy me' when we went to our nearest car supermarket to try out various cars. I like it because light blue, or Zircon as I think it is, never seems to be in or out of fashion. We would have bought it anyway......well not quite, white and the very light blue/green doesn't work for me!

Hi Delta66,

Welcome to the forums. I have a Zircon S-Type also. I have to admit, the grille and body coloured bumpers look pretty good.

Hi carelm. I saw your car and avatar in another post, the Zircon does look good doen't it! I like my de-chromed and black grill look. I dont know if it was originally specified or if it just came that way. It has aluminium (which feels like plastic, maybe it is?) trim instead of wood. My fathers green eyed reaction to the car was 'a Jaguar, without wood trim, pah?!' It is the diesel Sport.

Thanks Jamey. Have you got any pictures of your car? BRG is a classic colour.
